Making stuff, telling people about it and selling it, is a process that has been going on for thousands of years.
However, it might have been the great industrial revolution that led to a more formal recognition of what we might call Marketing 1.0 which was ‘tell people about your product and some buy it’. Maybe this was the age of advertising where the bigger the spend and the more creative the advert, the more the company sold. A huge over simplification but we hope you’ll agree, things were a bit more straightforward then.
